Our Sources
When we set out (Jack and Pat Heery, who are responsible for the contents of this website), we really had not much more to go on except that we knew our grandfather had been born in 1870 and (as we then thought) that he had three brothers and a sister. Our sources were:-
1. Certificates of Matthius’s children, grand-children and great-grand-children from the Family Records Centre in London, some of which we were able to cross‑check with parish entries from St Anthony's, St Sylvester's and other churches in the Scotland Road area of Liverpool. Copies of these parish entries are held in the Liverpool Record Office.
2. The census returns, 1841-1901.
3. The indexes to the interment registers for Ford Cemetery, held in the Liverpool Record Office.
4. Oral history, particularly recorded interviews with Katie Heery (nee McGuire), our mother, but many others of our generation have recalled information which is used in this web site.
5. The Meath Heritage and Genealogy Centre.
6. Internet sources.
